What if you were a Buddha?

What would you do? If your home is on fire, and your young child is looking for his most cherished doll, and going back into the burning house, how would you explain it?

There is a parable in the Buddhist scriptures: Children who don't know it yet, despite the fire in a large mansion, are all distracted by playing with their favorite toys.

In the case of the scripture, the father saved the children from a dangerous house once because there were white lies, each outside the house with the animals they wanted.

There is also a analogy like this. Losing memory, wandering here and there in the country, entering by chance to get a job in an immensely large mansion, the son of a very rich man who was wandering about.

Then the middle-aged man who came home and saw him knew at a glance that he was his son, but he did not recognize him because he had lost his memory.

The father, who had heard of his son's years of hard work after he left the house, had lost his memory, asked the butler to hire him, and to do the chores first.

Then, the father goes around the house, lets the son adapt for a long time, and then reveals in public that he is his father.

Finally, there is a story from Zen.

If we assume we're all fish, and a baby fish is asking you "I'm thirsty, Please tell me where is the water."

I'd like to tell you that this place, where you live, is all water, but if the baby fish had already known it, I wouldn't have asked such a stupid question.

What would you say? I thought it was an absurdly stupid, story-telling scripture.

It would feel like this if you had to convince someone who was crazy about something.

From where should I begin? If someone, even if he listens to me, it is possible for him to have some faith in me, and if he misinterprets my words and lives stuck in his thoughts, then I can not help him any more.

In the above case, even though it is a family, it is not easy to persuade, which would be even more difficult if it were someone else, not a family.

However, Buddhist monks and other ancient monks have been rescuing people in various ways,

But waking up has become increasingly rare, partly because of the fact that traditional religions have become places of blessings or funeral homes,

Also because the ways of rescuing people have not changed with the changing times.

Likewise, the listener must have the eyes to see what is right and the ears to hear what is right, and do not be complacent about simply being at ease in listening to Zen.

If I seem to have caught a clue, I must persevere, actively follow and put an end to it, because it is only my own job to find myself.

If you were a Buddha, what would you say to the water seeker, underwater?
