the Place of Buddha
Zen's old man said, "If you continue to be thoughtless, you will go to Buddha's place."
The monk who heard this story murmured to himself, "I live without thinking, but why me?"
At that moment, an old man walked by and said,
"If you don't even think about living without thinking, It's the place of Buddha."
He understood the meaning of the word and shouted, "Yes! I was holding on to that last thought!"
When he shouted, joy seemed to flood into his body.
Eventually, the monk later became a respected Buddhist teacher from the people.
But he was out of the Buddha's place.
Because understanding is understanding, not a place of thought-out enlightenment.
