"There's nothing there" even though this thought was not there either.
Clean water is needed to wash away dirt,
but eventually the water also must be washed away by mixing it with dirt.
Therefore, the teachings of the Buddha who said,
"If you cross the river, throw away the boat," or the Zen master who said,
"If you meet the Buddha in your dream, kill the Buddha,"
cannot be said to be a complete awakening if it is not washed away and disappeared.
